Chris Webb//Milk Teeth

I jumped straight into this asking about the details for the 'behind the scenes' of the new music and why they kept it so hushed up, Chris started by saying that the band 'love the idea of hitting people with the unexpected', they made it clear they were recording things but didn't give any other details away, he said they decided to just drop ...it all as fans were most likely expecting an album instead of an EP, "We've never really been a fan of when bands announce they have an announcement" he said before finishing with telling me their preference of "going in guns blazing with everything all at once".
I then asked about when we could be hearing some of it live, after they told us the new song 'Owning your Okayness" would feature in their setlist at Slamdunk festival this month, to which he said that one song from the ep "may or may not have been played on a recent tour" but we'll most likely have to wait till their headliner in August to hear any other new tunes live
Then I kept with the festival questioned and asked about Hit The Deck and how that all came about. "Aha yeah, I think we announced that one for them!" He said, referencing to how they posted about their appearance there before the festival itself did, he then said how the hole band have been there before and loved it, so they're dead excited to play it.
Then came MilkCreep, which was such an anticipated tour so I was asked the wonderfully cliche 'best tour story' question, and he started by saying all the band loved the tour so much they never wanted it to end then said his favourite memory of it was in Hamburg when everyone went to a karaoke bar, "Seeing Puppy singing Oasis to a bunch of disapproving locals was hilarious" and that in the end everyone had a sing along to Metallicas Enter Sandman "which was so much fun"
Then going back to talking about their new music, questioning that as they are selling the new ep on vinyl I asked how he felt about the massive comeback in records these days to which he said he thinks it's great, "we live in an age where it's normal to stream and not pay, why would you when you can listen for free?" He spoke about how records are just like any other merchandise and how people love collecting them and how he even knows people who buy them but don't own record players just because they like the look and feel of them "I don't blame them either, [records coming back] can only be a good thing".
And as usual I asked something totally random to end with which was what is the most random thing you've ever thought while up on stage and (rather worryingly) he replied "it's usually where the hell is this blood coming from??"
Milk Teeths new EP comes out in June and they play; Slamdunk, Hit The Deck, 2000 Trees and their own headline tour all this year.
